Rhinoplasty involves reshaping the nose to either enhance one’s appearance or to reconstruct a damaged nose. Reshaping the nose can be divided into procedures that only altar the tip of the nose and those that reshape the bony part of the nose. If a person is unhappy with just the tip or appearance of the nostrils, a “tip rhinoplasty,” which is a more limited procedure, will help. Other people complain of a “bump” in the nose or would like a refinement of their nose. In these cases, a total rhinoplasty is appropriate.
